I'm a self-taught woodworking hobbyist looking to build nice looking things of function. Growing up, I learned quite a bit from my dad who also was self taught. He has all the big tools but he plays nice and shares with me.
I am at home in nature so the use of wood in a home setting is very comforting to me. I'd say that my style could be best described as modern rustic in that I like the visual of natural wood incorporated with everyday living.
My great wife found this amazing LumberJocks.com site one day and, after I lurked about for about 6 months or so checking out all the great things people were creating, I decided to take part. I love learning new things and see that's there's a wealth of knowledge out here amongst my fellow Lumber Jocks (and Jills). Can't wait for my next project!

Hairy, my hat is a nice piece of fallen birch bark up in the northwoods Wisconsin. My wife found it and we hope to make a nice lamp out of it someday.
