Hey, I’m Tom and I do woodworking, I fish, and I do major renos on my house. I learned woodworking and fishing from my Dad. I learned a lot by owning an old house, needing to do major renovations and not having the big bucks to pay to have it done. I’m at the point of doing repairs and custom furniture for extra $$. I enjoy it and never want to stop learning new things, techniques and a few tips as well. I built my shop in 1998 with the help of two good friends, a framing carpenter and a plumber. The framing carpenter, plumber and I built it in 10 days. I thought they would kill me!! The end result is a building with 200amp buried service, hot and cold running water, a sink, a toilet, phone and cable! Oh yeah there is a bunch of woodworking tools as well!!
The barrels out back are for rainwater collection for toilet flushing. Flush for free!! I’ve got the whole installation on that in pictures and might do an off topic on how to do it.

Cheers all!

Thanks guys, it’s big in a small way. Built as big as the City will allow, but I kinda snookered them on height! Plenty of storage way up. I don’t know about other guys but it under goes a re-do n one or another area every 6-8 months or so. Most used stuff up front so you don’t have to dig. Will post some stuff and projects current and past as I figure this site out. I’m new to the forum thing, been a lurker for a while decided to jump in and give my 2 cents worth!! The barrels in back provide rain water to flush the toilet! Might have to post that whole set-up, pretty cool and free!!

You have a nice cozy shop. It’s small but still looks very organized and an enjoyable place to work. Congratulations and welcome to LJ’s.

Thanks Charles, it gives me the outlet I need that’s for sure! I’ve just cleaned up from an antique late 1800s Hall Tree repair. I’ll probably use it as my first post. It was a learning lesson to say the least.

Thanks Mike! I’m going to start with an off topic about how I did the rain water collection / free toilet flush system I added to the shop. I like shop mods that add effeciency and lower cost!
