My shop is small, the third bay of a 3 car garage, and what space I can steal from the other two bays. I built all the organizers and work benches myself. All the equipment is on rollers for ease of moving and all the organizers are on cleats so they can follow the equipment as I move pieces around.

I was lucky enough to have my shop chosen to be featured in a recent book ”Wood Shop Lust” by David Thiel. Hope you’ll check it out.

Like most woodwoorker’s, my favorite place to be is in the shop, and that’s usually where you’ll find me. Just ask my Wife. :)

Note: I moved out of this shop about a 1 1/2 years ago and am in the process of setting up my new one. You can see photos of it in “My Projects”. I will be updating this page soon with the new shop photos.

Rick, what a beautifully organized shop you have!!!! I am just glad that my wife is at work and not looking over my shoulder at your post. She yells at me enough for “tracking sawdust in the house” and “making a mess in MY shop”. :)

I can well understand why your shop was featured. You have done well with the space that you have available. I like the way you have separated out the lumber storage into the next garage bay and made use of the “dead” space between the wall the garage door in that area. And having your tools on wheels is an absolute necessity given the available space. You have a nice set of tools to play with. I would enjoy working in there- you have a gorgeous work space, nice tools, a heated shop and a tv. If you only had a bed and refrigerator in there you would not have any incentive to come into the house!!

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed visiting with you.

Very well organized. Recognized the engineer’s touch :) I also have been exiled to a single garage bay and am in the process of downsizing and re-evaluating my needs. Notice several Grizzly products and a I believe a Rigid saw – very similar to to what I have. Love your shirt. Go pokes!!

Woodscrap,
Where can I get the plans for your drill press table? I’d really like to make one for my DP. If asked what your profession was when seeing your shop photos for the first time, I could have guessed engineer. NEVER, have I seen such a neat, clean well organized shop. “Shezabeaudymate!”

Woodscrap,
I’m interested in making a table for my drill press like the one pictured in your shop photos. Can you give us another close up photo or tell us where you got the plans. Your’s looks great and I’d like to replicate it.

Woodscrap,
Good to see someone just as anal as I am, lol. Nice, clean, and organized shop. Did you clean it before the photo shoot? What kind of dust collection system? Wish you were a Grizzly fan too. Need to barrow some sawdust? :0) Very nice, you have my full respect, and it’s nice to know I’m not alone. We have a disorder, eveything must be put in order.

Hey Rick,
Nice shop, Would you consider posting some more pics of your drill press table? I’d like to get a closer look.

I used to live near you 21st and Harvard area, then to Claremore, now in Virginia. Tulsa is a great town, we miss it.
