This is an Oak Nic Nac Cabinet. It features open slot mortis and tennon joints, an inset door w/Muntins &#38; Glass , and custom trim. The cabinet was finished with a Tung Oil Varnish and satin Nickel hardware.</p>


	<p>A Few changes will be made in the video project, showing other options for this cabinet.</p>

        <![CDATA[<p><img alt="Desktop Art Easel" src="http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictures/projects/275833-196x130.jpg" /></p><p>Recently I built a desk top art easel for my mother for Christmas, She requested one from Santa, but since he is busy making toys for all the boys and girls, the task was up to me.</p>


	<p>This Easel is a great gift for the artist in your life. A fun build and a beautiful piece. The easel is made of Walnut and Oak it features two trays which can hold all of your paint supplies, as well as a paint pallet made from birch. The brass hardware and Oak Splines really set this piece off.</p>


	<p>This box was finished with 3 coats of Tung Oil Finish followed by 2 coats of Paste Wax. Buffed to a semi or satin finish. for a full instructional on building this box, please see my videos in my How to build a Desktop Easel blog</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p><img alt="Walnut &amp; Cherry Jewelry Box" src="http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictures/projects/231401-196x130.jpg" /></p><p>Well i have reached a pinnacle point in my woodworking..lol..I made this jewelry box which features a couple of FIRSTS for me&#8230; It is joined together with Hand Cut dove tail joinery and also has to bird&#8217;s eye maple inlays &#8230;having never done dovetails much less hand cut, or inlays..i was please with how this turned out&#8230;It is made of cherry and walnut.. take a look at the colors of the walnut grain what a beautiful piece of wood..i knew it was special as soon as i milled it preparing for this project and saw the various colors running through the grain.I finished it off with 5 coats of lacquer..everything was hand made including the etched brass plate.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p><img alt="Table" src="http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictures/projects/189665-196x130.jpg" /></p><p>If any of you happen to read one of my Forum topics i posted last week&#8230;It talked about coming upon a find of wood on my way home one day, A woman was throwing out a queen size bed from made completely of wood&#8230; The wood was a poplar  which I have very recently found out , is a very difficult wood to finish..</p>


	<p>I didnt need a queen size bed, but i couldnt see the wood going to waste so i decided to take it home and build something with it&#8230;</p>


	<p>Well I took a portion of the wood and decided to build a table. I also decided to use mortise and tenon joinery which is something I have never done..So it was going to be a first&#8230;. I decided on through tenons..As you will notice, I have not finished the table yet, Im still in a debate as to how and with what&#8230;. The table top was a nice bookmatched birch which I stained&#8230; Ultimately there is a 1/8th inch glass panel on the top of the table to protect the wood..  So this is one of my &#8221; From Trash to Treasure&#8221; pieces..</p>]]>
