Retired but still entrepreneurial. No less than twelve projects going at any time; almost done with seven of them! Neighbors and friends commission me for projects as well.
Volunteer work- I am a member of our volunteer ambulance squad; with my community as a zoning board member and as a volunteer- Past president of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and volunteer time with the North-East Woodworkers and Turners Association.
I enjoy turning and recently got my Jet 16-42 2HP EVS lathe. If only my renovated and enlarged workshop was done so I could remove it from the crate! I'm going to look in the mirror and yell at the contractor.
We have 70 acres of second growth forest- Mostly Pine, Ash, Maple and Oak with some Cherry and Fir. I don't have a kiln so I rely on stacking in my workshop attic. I have a sawmill 5 miles away that will do my quartersawing and a friend with a WoodMizer that will saw for a share of the wood.
