Hello to all,

My name is Eddie Weathers, about a year ago I started to sell some of my work (after 15 years of “practicing” and telling myself that no one would be interested). I began my love for wood working by framing houses, and helping out on renovations for homes. Now I am a journeyman carpetenter and I have just recieved a “Master” rating as a carver and engraver. I am also a Master Gunsmith, rated through Winchester Arms and a former competitive shooter 1,000 yards or plus. Getting old, ya’ know…eyesight not what it used to be. I hardley shoot anything any more, much less compeat.

Quick lifetime story: I am a Soldier on the downside (gettng ready to retire) of a lifetime of being a professional Soldier. I served in the United States Marine Corps for 10 years, and I have been in the US Army for the past 13 years. 23 years of service and I am looking forward to retirement, working in my shop “making splinters” and spoiling my 1st Grandchild, my 4-month old Grandson! Don’t worry fellow wood lovers, I have already designed his first work bench and will help him on his way to me a true craftsman.

I make furnature, fireplace mantels, and general construction (decks, sheds, etc…); but I LOVE carving. There is alot of demand where I am for unit plaques and indvidual plaques here in an Army town.

Please check out my ‘projects’ and take a look. I have even had moderate success in carving photo-portraits.

In all, in my Military Carreer, I have served 23 years. I fought in Panama in ‘89, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Somolia, Afghanistan in 2001-2002, and two tours in Iraq. Been wounded twice, one pretty bad and I thank God every day that I wake up, see my family and able to ‘make some splinters’ in my humble lil’ shop.

I am so very much looking forward to being a member on LJ’s and i am completely thrilled to meet all of you.

Thank you
WeathersWood Working

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! I have seen your carvings and I’m personally very impressed. I want to start giving it a go myself soon to add that extra flair to some projects. I now have a new person to get inspiration from…lol

Also, thank you for your service to our great country.
