Between a crazy work schedule and the Hocky Play offs my workshop time is suffering. Any other NHL fans out there? Any favorites for the Stanley cup?

I’m hoping to spend some serious time at the Woodworking Show this weekend. It is here in Sacramento starting tomorrow. Hopefully this will give me some additional inspiration to get back to work on my projects and I will not spend too much money on gadgets. I’ve purchased a couple of items that have not been used since they left the show. Any one else have that experience?

I’ve got a bathroom remodel to do and will probably hold off on any big purchases due to that. I know it is heiracy but I really do have all the tools I need to do to get the job done. Hopefully the woodworking gods will not strike me down for addmiting it. I’m also hoping to sit through the cabinet series at the show and get some ideas. Any recommendations as to things to check out at the show?

I’m also thinking about picking up the basic tools that Frank recommended so that I can process some green wood.

I’ve got a lot of sharpening to do. Lots of plane irons to flatten, etc. But tonight that just sounds like work. Well, back to the Hocky game (Dallas vs. Vancouver). Scoreless in the 3rd with 6 minutes to go.

I can’t help you on the woodworking show because they seem to think we have no woodworkers in Louisiana. They won’t come here. I hope you enjoy the show!

I would highly recommend any of the presentations that the Heavey brothers put on. When the show was in Louisville I got to see both of them, and I spent a lot of one on one time with Jim Heavey (he does the WOOD Magazine Project Shop). Have fun and tell Jim I said hello from Louisville. Don’t forget to wear your LJ t-shirt if you have one.

I’ve been a Penguins fan for years, so last night was tough…

I’m going to have to get a LumberJocks tee shirts for occasions like this. It does not look like I will make it to the show until tomorrow.

The Sharks won in Nashville and moved to the next round. I guess they will keep me out of the shop some more.

Ducks/Sharks would be interesting.

Ouch. Too bad about the Penguins.

Been reading your posts in hopes of getting some planes to fix up. The only thing I think I have is a low angle stanley block plane, but I’m not even sure about that. Apparently, tuning is an important part of using even a new plane so the one I have apparently needs some work (may explain some of my frustrations). Now as I go through the blogs, I find a fellow hockey fan… even better. Both our teams are out this year (N.J. for me), but it should be an exciting finals. Thanks for putting all this info out here.

Your most welcome. I’ve been extreamly busy at work and not had much time for woodworking. Hopefully I will get back to it before long.
