Wally I’m a little south of you in Delaware now. I used to live in Ringoes NJ. just outside of Flemington.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. It’s nice to belong to such a friendly group.
I’m what you would call a self-taught woodworker which means I had a pretty strange teacher. :-) Over the years, I’m more than certain that I picked up some bad habits—some of which I don’t even realize are bad. Hope to correct that in this group.
I live in Hamilton Twp., NJ (midway between Trenton and Princeton) so I’m not in a woodworking-rich region of the world. Outside of Lowes and Home Depot there are no local woodworking schools or stores less than an hour’s drive. Wish it wasn’t like this as I’d love to take woodworking courses or meet face-to-face other woodworkers.
Actually, what I would love to do is get a group of woodoworkers together and make wooden toys to donate to local charitable organizations all year round. I think it would be so cool to get a couple guys together for some pizza, beer and woodworking—the beer is after we’re done working with the power tools. :-) Guess it will always be a dream of mine. Oh, well. Such is life.
Again, thanks for the welcome. I can’t imagine anything I can contribute right now with my meager woodworking knowledge but, then again, you never know.
Wally

Any pictures of your projects would be nice. Also, pictures of the shop too. We all suffer from tool envy, so its nice to see what is in your shop.

Wallywood. Our woodworking club “The Mason-Dixon Woodworkers” make toys all year round for charities. We make about 1200 toys each year and have about 30-35 charities that pass them out. We get cash donation from banks, VFW halls etc to allow us to purchase the wood and materials.
Last year we made 50 doll cradles and purchased dolls for them, some of the wives made the doll clothes.
We do this on Wed of each week, If you’d like to join us to see what we do you are welcome.
