I would generally describe myself as a Civil Engineer by education and neophyte woodworker with passion.
I am the proud father of two wonderful children and happily married husband of one wonderfully supportive and beautiful wife. Without my family to share my journey with, the fabric of life's experiences would unravel and leave me with a void. While I have a deep passion to pursue nirvana through woodworking, family is my foremost responsibility and joy in life.
I have been immersing myself in woodworking information for about 4 years now. I have completed several small to medium projects, including an ash and walnut floating top end table and a 25 baseball display cabinet. I have a tendency to fly by the seat of my pants on most projects, which I know is not the best habit. I am getting better as time goes on, but still have to reel myself in on occasions. The two biggest hurdles I face are availability of time and confidence in my ability to avoid failure. As my experience grows I find the latter less and less of of a hindrance, but it regularly causes me to over think and complicate minor hurdles. When I get to deep into that mode of operation I have learned to force myself to experiment on scrap or less grade material to work through the issue. The act of doing something helps me get past the paralysis of analysis.
My hope for participating here at LumberJocks is to meet like-minded people with the same passion for woodworking I have and being able to share experiences in order to mutually enrich everyone's. I am by no means a wealth of information, but I am open to sharing my journey regardless of the successes or failures.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Now if you don't mind I need to get back to pulling this daggum splinter from my finger. Tissues and pacifiers appreciated, but unnecessary.
