I couldn’t upload my pictures in the comment section so I’m trying here to post them.Here are a few photos of my set up for carving ad turning tools. I don’t use the turning set up often but for carving this is easy and will produce a very sharp edge starting at 240 if necessary all the way up to 1500.I have 3 wheels with 240-400-600-800-1000-1500

My shop was designed to house a heavy lathe and has a 6’ x 6’ x 20” slab which has the main beam for the crane sunk down 18” into the slab. The lathe is set directly under the path of the crane to help load heavy objects onto the spindle. This has proved over the years to be invaluable.I decided not to use the leveling feet but used shims to level the machine and then bolted the head stock end to the main beam of the shop and also bolted the tail-stock end to the floor...

I ordered my new Lathe from Packard and had it delivered to a friends cabinet shop where they loaded it on to a pickup and brought it to my shop. I have an overhead crane system which moves out to the middle of my drive and enables me to lift objects out of a truck bed or trailer.My first objective was to remove the lathe from the box without destroying the box in case I wanted to return it or move it in the future.Before removing the lathe I found the plug and tested to see if it would fit m...

Hi Guys, I recently posted that I had pulled the plug on my old Delta Contactors saw.For my 64th birthday my Dad who is 90 bought me a new SawStop.Since I don’t have any insurance I convinced him that it would be a good investment. It was purchased through Highland Woodworking in Atlanta.Everything arrived in perfect shape.I planned on using my Incra TSLS fence, so ordered the shorter Pro-Glide.
