Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Hi Kari. I saw your comments on Naomi’s bench build and I thought that I should also extend a warm welcome to LJ. I checked out your home page and then your website. The website was very nice and a little amusing as well. I especially enjoyed the blog about the old reprinted woodworking book and the chalk trick. I’ll have to try that sometime.

It’s good to have a new member who is focusing on hand skills. I was very impressed with the work you did making your beautiful wooden hand planes. I have a lot of machines, but I do a lot of stuff with hand tools too. Both because they are often the most efficient tool for the job and just for the enjoyment of working quietly in a dust free environment. I find it a little humorous that most people nowadays use a machine even when doing something by hand is easier and more efficient and a whole lot less expensive. I guess it’s about learning the skills. I am certainly no expert at it either, but I’m getting better all the time.

I hope you enjoy LJ. There are a lot of nice and helpful people on this site.
