« Part 3: 3 Weekend - It's time to paint and reassembly Part 4 of Acerbi Jointer Restoration series Part 5: 5 Weekend - The Paint »

Once more weekend and the project keeps going. The main objetive was to finish the base this weekend, but due the some troubles I came to late then I should in workshop.

Plans in hand it’s time to make it happening:

First step is ressawing a lumber of Sucupira (as known as Brazilian Chestnut) wood. I will use it to make the base feets and his rails:

The lap joints of feets. A dado blade helped me in this step:

Assembling the base feets:

Was saturday night when I started clamping

Everything glued and clamped until next day

In sunday starting the base table. Opened the main hole with a jig saw and finished with a router:

Cutting and gluing the dust drawer.

The drawer assembled and glued in place:

The main table with hole for the motor belt and the drawer in place:

The motor rails and his mechanism for up and down the motor base:

It’s all for this weekend folks. Next weekend I’m planning to finish the enclosure cabinet, paint process and electrical part.
Once more work weekend is enough to finish all project and put the machine to fully works.

Thanks for reading and your comment. See you next monday!
