Just finished the shop, now have to fill it with toys!

Radiant heat system under the floor, holds the temperature at a comfortable 50 degrees F all the time.
I would definitely recommend this system to anyone in a northern climate.

First tool was the Craftsman radial arm saw, purchased used from a friend. This was a great help in building the shop. Last year found the band saw on Craigslist, couldn’t pass on that! About a month ago added the Porter Cable sliding miter saw, also on Craigslist.

01April2011: Brand new 21833 table saw from Craftsman. Thanks much to Knotscott and all other bloggers for the reviews and recommendations! So far, I’m very pleased with this saw, today I’m off to Lowe’s for a new blade.

Viking, I have said many times that having a stand alone shop is definitely the way to go. It looks like you are far enough away that running your power tools and applying finishes is not going to bother any neighbors or other members of the house.

And of course, it is always generates an adrenaline rush to add a tool(s) to our shops. It looks like your fun is just beginning. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of the inside when you get a chance to post some pictures.

Yeah, it was a “bit chilly” last week, -20. When I say the shop is just finished, that’s because I just got the heat working. I installed an in-floor radiant heat system, off-peak electric power. Can’t help but grin when I step inside!
