Where can I look?

First, I hope this is the correct place to put this question. My wife are going to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN area next weekend…Friday, November 2. Are there any woodworking retail stores in the area? (It doesn’t matter if they cater to woodworkers using hand tools, power tool, or machines.) Are there any working wood shops, that are open to the public, where I could see either the process or equipment, or even the finished product? I know, I know…I could Google it and research it, somehow that doesn’t usually work for me too well as the shops usually are out of business or it’s a private individual’s shop. Thanks.

If this question doesn’t belong, perhaps the powers that be, will delete it.

Tucker, I just got back a week or so ago from there.
First comment.. I hope you like beach type towns, with out the beach.
Second… I was not able to find any local woodworking stores. There is a hobby shop inside the Mall in Gatlinburg that is suppose to carry woodworking supplies but I never made it there.
Pick up a map of the craft loop and look for woodworkers. I do think there were a few there, most of the stuff though was going on at the big craft fair in town which ended yesterday. I did stop in a a large Tim Weberding gallery, neat stuff all laser cut. Not sure if they do any demos there though. My wife and I enjoyed our afternoon driving around the craft loop and meeting some great people in a lot of the various shops. If you have never been I highly suggest the tramway ride to OberGatlinburg. OberGatlinburg is not all that hot but the ride up is a lot of fun and great views.

Enjoy the trip.
