Yesterday, I received my Powermatic order of a 24” band saw, 8” parallelogram jointer, 20” planer, and bench-top mortiser. I am still awaiting my Shop Fox open-end sander, and General’s disc/belt sander, and oscillating spindle sander. I am proud to have this quality equipment. I am humbled and overwhelmed. Thanks to this website, your opinions, reviews, and my local dealer in Trenton, IL, this selection process was in itself educational and rewarding. The person I need to thank the most is my late father for his, well, financial contribution. I hope I can show as much patience in the wood shop as he did with me! (All I need now is 220…221 whatever it takes!)

Whoa, that’s better than Xmas. That bandsaw and jointer are massive. I’ve lusted after the planer for many years now. I’m interested to see if you like the mortiser. I almost pulled the trigger on it but went JET at the last minute. I haven’t been overwhelmed by it. You already got the PM2000? You’re set, man.

That sounds like an amazing shop set-up, and all in one day! Would love to see some pics about how you have it all setup!

May they all serve as a reminder of your dad every time you use them. I suggest you build something nice and donate it in his name to your church or charitable organization. Oh yeah ….......Pictures pictures!!!!!

I can’t explain how overwhelmed I am in this phase of woodworking! Only a year ago I was debating which kind of circular saw to buy. Now, I guess I have the rest of my life to learn how to use this equipment that I am so lucky to have. Pictures? I need to get a third grader to post them for me. Seriously, thanks for the suggestion of building, (with patience and love), a piece and donating it to Pop’s church. Great idea, DocK…I’m touched!
