Somers, CT 06071
United States

Work in progress.

I started with a 24’x24’ detached building. I ran 60amp power, had the floor coated with real epoxy, insulated ceiling and walls, installed a 45,000 BTU modine hot dawg heater, sheetrock and paint on ceiling, various 240v and 115v outlets throughout, and of course filled it with a boat load of tools. It is almost one year to the day that I started the project. Before then I had a socket set and that’s about it. Now it’s filled with

1. 10” Saw Stop PCS 175 240v
2. 16” Oliver 4426 5HP Helical Planer
3. Delta 8” DJ-20 jointer
4. Dewalt 12” DWS780 double bevel compound miter saw
5. 2 Jet 1.75hp cyclone dust collectors
6. Kreg router table with a Triton TRA001 3.25hp router mounted underneath
7. 12” Wen bench top drill press
8. A 60 gallon Craftsman air compressor

Wow, I have been going at it for over 2 years and most of my stuff is either used or on the cheaper end. Looks like you have a few more resources than I do. Best wishes and welcome to LJ!

Thanks guys. Lucky for me my job has unlimited overtime. Although I don’t make much last year I worked (159) 8 hour overtime shifts. That’s on top of working a 40 hour week. I had to sacrifice a lot but I put the majority of what I made into this shop. Hopefully this year I can spend a lot more time in the shop. Also it helps to have a wife that was supportive and actually encouraged me to build the shop. I am a lucky guy!!!
