About 10 or 12 days ago my computer died (motherboard failure). It was about 7 years old, so I guess that is a pretty fair life expectancy for something that I use so many hours a day. Anyway, two days ago I got a brand new computer that my computer techie friend built for me. 6 GB of RAM, 1 terrabyte hard drive memory, plus a 500 GB external hard drive, hi-speed video card and hi-speed DVD, multi-card reader and the tower is 1/3rd the size of my old computer. Thanks to my techie friend, he was able to retrieve most of my files, photos and documents that were on the old computer. $300+tax for my new computer.. what a guy! I’m a happy camper once again.

sounds like you got lucky and a great deal. A friend of mine had a hard drive crash and it cost him a whole lot more than that just to retrieve his file. I dread the day mine crashes. I try to keep everything backed up but I don’t do it nearly as much as I should.
