I’ve been wanting to upgrade my 8” drill press to a larger model for some time now, and today I hit the jackpot. I was in my local Canadian Tire store looking at the power tools section and noticed a 12” drill press with built-in digital RPM readout, LED work light as well as a cross-hair laser beam. The box was badly ripped and the top flap had been opened. The item had been marked down from $249 to $149. I spoke to the store manager and asked him if he could discount it any further. He said that it was already marked down to their cost because of the damaged box, but he scratched his head for a few seconds and said that he would knock off another $20 for me, so I ended up bringing it home for $129. I just finished assembling it this evening.. all the pieces and parts were there, and it works like a charm.. complete with full warranty (3 years). I’m anxious to give it a workout tomorrow.

That’s a good deal.

Enjoy your new drill press.

You can get power tools at a tire store?? All I can ever get is a front end alignment. Don’t you feel guilty getting something good at such a low price?? No, I wouldn’t either….......

very nice tool score here, its always fun to haggle on the price, thats a word i learned from a john wayne western , actually it was in the shootist, the last movie he did, if you like westerns, give it a try, its a good un…...:)......have a good time using your new drill press, i need a new chuck for mine, but i would like a new one , like yours really, it has a bit more travel up and down, and i would like that…just as a side note, i just came from your box you made with the clover leaf, i wanted to tell you of a really cool tool you can use your dremel with, its for doing inlay work, it comes from a company called stewart mcdonald, it turn your dremel into a small router and is perfect for doing inlay work, and they have the right bits to go into the is the link to it
there are a few other attacments that go with it, take a look…have a great day…grizz

“They are more than just tires …” or so their advertising goes.

I am always pleasantly surprised at how well their stuff works, especially considering what they cost. Well done on the drill press.
