Let's see...I have been working with wood for about 10 years (self-taught), and started doing some outdoor art shows 3 years ago. The art shows are sporadic as it takes a lot of time from family and I can;t make a full living doing that.
I am fortunate enough to have an uncle who owns a big steel warehouse/barn about 1/4 mile from my house where he has given me a 15' x 50' room for a dedicated workshop (already had 110 & 220 wired with a spraybooth w/ exhaust fan!). I used to do the 2-card garage shop thing, but there is nothing like having all the tools out and stationary and ready to rumble at a moment's notice...I am definitely blessed! I call it my happy place.
And like everyone else, I have a big list of furniture projects because I just can't spend money on furniture anymore when I can make it better for 1/3 the cost!! but that means we have to defer gratification until I have time to get through all the things we want. :)
What else....I started out doing lots of arts and crafts (1/4 saw white oak is still a favorite...LOVE the smell!), but have lately gotten into more sculpted elements and curves and using contrasting woods.
