Update to the #29 transitional shoot plane

Well its been 2 years since I started using my #29 as a shoot plane. Its worked ok for shooting miters, but when it came to squaring the ends of boards at 90 degrees I couldn’t get it to stop chattering. I don’t think it had enough mass, its fairly light for a shoot plane. So, I have saved up my pennies and bought a LV bevel up jack plane and retired my old #29. The new bevel up jack goes through maple end grain like a hot knife thru butter! No chatter what so ever, I was afraid maybe the chatter was coming from the Incra miter gauge I was using. The cuts are glass smooth. I’m still using the same shoot board with the Incra miter gauge and its working great. I couldnR...
