A couple of the drawers of the chest I bought have metal slides in the base that are sticky. I thought about spraying some WD-40 in a plastic bowel and then either use cotton swabs or a flat screwdriver tip wrapped with a piece of rag to try to clean them out and lubricate them at the same time. Even with reading glasses I don’t see that w...

I have used the Bull Frog emitter strips in the boxes that I store my hand planes and they seem to work well. I also wipe the planes with Camellia oil saturated in a cotton ball. Does anyone know if Camellia oil saturated cotton balls will work if just placed in a drawer of a wooden chest by its self? Or should I buy sheets of the Bull Frog emit...

Do you get decent results with that setup? I don’t need to slice veneer thicknesses just want to be able to slice 5/4 and 4/4 stock down...

Advice sought re: dovetailed splines for boxes - 9 replies
Hi guys and gals. I have a couple of boxes ready to have the miters reinforced with splines. I thought making the splines as dovetails might be interesting. I will make a simple spline cutting jig like those I see here for simple splines but instead of cutting straight splines I will use my router table and cut dovetail grooves instead. Any sugg...

I received this from my brother-in-law and wanted to share… You are in the middle of some kind of project around the house. You are hot and sweaty, covered in dirt or paint. You have your old work clothes on. You know the outfit – shorts with the hole in the crotch, old T-shirt with a stain from who knows what, and an old pair of...

I found a great tool yesterday @ PCWorld.com that lets you “capture” streaming video content from YouTube and other sites. You can use this tool to build a video library of woodworking related “tubes” and videos. Here is the review from PCWorld: “The Internet is chock-full of sites that stream video and audio to ...
