I am lucky enough to have a new shop. This past summer, we did “The Big Dig” and had a partial crawlspace dug out to create a new 325 sf shop. That was quite a construction project itself. Now it’s done and I literally unpacked the last box of tools a week ago (right before Thanksgiving). It’s unheated, and I have some more waterproofing to do (there are a few leaks!), but its big and open, and we even ended up with a window!
Part of the new-shop agreement with the family is that the shop stays clean, so my goal in setting it up has been to have a place for everything and enclose as much as possible in cabinets with doors or drawers.
First projects for the shop: 1) Relocate the low-hanging ductwork, 2) Building a workbench/art center for my daughter, 3) Install some electrical outlets to eliminate that wire across the floor!
