I had a craftsman nailer/stapler combo that did a decent job but would smash the wood sometimes with the square headed 16GA nails. I have some new woodwork that wasn’t going to work well with those nails so I was looking for a new one. To begin this review I have to add that this is my first jointer ever. I’ve never used one before so all of my comments are based on being a novice. Also, one peculiar thing is that this jointer is not advertised on Delta’s website and other than seeing it in the Rockler advertisement I can’t find any proof of it’s existence;) The jointer is a 6 in model with a metal stand that needs to be assembled. This isn’t really a woodworking tool however I’ve never seem them referenced in any magazines or online so I thought I’d toss it up here. If you’re not familiar with these go to your local big box store. Simpson Strongties are metal connectors in various shapes. Mainly used in the building trades a few of these connectors can be used to make shelves and even workbenches. My review is of Oneida’s Dust Deputy. http://www.dustdeputy.com/ I’ve had this addition to my shop vac for a little over a year and it is performing very well. Order/Assembly:I ordered mine online directly from Oneida and it came, unassembled, in a very short amount of time. Ordering was fast and easy. Assembly was quick but did involve silicon sealant.
