I consider myself to be a beginner woodworker. I didn't start getting serious about it until I hit 50. Since then, I've taken courses when possible. I took a great cabinetmaking class at Marc Adams' school in Indiana and then was lucky enough to spend a week in the UK taking Paul Sellers' hand tool foundation courses that he teaches at a castle near Bangor, Wales.
I've been in the process of updating my shop and my tools for the past few years. I have a very small 10x13 foot shop, which really limits what I can do at home without rolling stuff out into the front yard. Luckily, as a military retiree (Air Force), I have access to a wonderful woodshop on Fort Belvoir in Virginia. The only problem is that it is 60 miles away so I spend lots of time driving and loading and unloading wood at each end of the trip.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts, my projects, and learning from all the talent here as much as possible.
