I am what you wood call a professional hobbyist when it comes to woodworking. I really enjoy making things and trying out new advanced level projects that test my skill and tool ability. My first project was before the age of 6 when my father decided it was OK to let me use a circular saw, and I have not put the tools down since. I have 3 sons and I also try to include them in the shop when possible, but with a little more regard to age appropriate tool use. I have built several items but seem to stick with a simple clean design rather than the overly embellished elegance of Victorian era things. I have also been blessed with a wife who lets me wander wood stores and touch all the tools. Most kids grew up on Saturday watching cartoons but every Saturday morning I would turn the dial to watch Norm. It should come as no surprise then when I found a website dedicated to all things wood, that I needed to sign up. I look forward to posting my projects and viewing others work as well.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
