Lighting is very important in any shop. Sometimes you don’t want to hardwire a light in or don’t exactly know how, but need that extra light somewhere. Here I show you an easy to install light.

You’re write, lighting is very important, more so to us older woodworkers as our eye get weak as we age. When I built my shop I wired two lighting circuits into the ceiling. The first is general lighting, 3 – 8 foot fixtures spaces evenly across the shop. The other is a receptacle every 6 feet all the way around the perimeter of the shop about 3 feet from the wall installed in the ceiling. These receptacles are wired to a separate switch and I can install a light over any machine in the shop for task lighting. If I move a machine I can move the light and plug it into another receptacle.
