Make the Simplest Bench Dog

I finally got around to drilling the dog holes in my bench (only a year late) and now it was time to make some bench dogs. Now I like traditional woodworking, but wanted something quick and easy. I will be making some traditional bench dogs, but here is the simplest bench dog ever. Check out the VIDEO HERE

you could put another behind the work
and drive a wedge between them

Good dog. These kind of dogs work even better if you have an angle around the edges of the square piece. The angle, which tapers from the top inward toward the bottom has the effect of pushing the workpiece down tighter to the bench surface.
