This is right up my alley and I agree that it is an underused material. I bought a leather L-N pouch when I got their cabinet scrapers. I love the pouch, it’s smell and substantial feel. Have always had that lust for leather buying car seats, chairs, a couch and dining chairs with leather.
I want to find some scraps and make a sharpening strop, a mallet cover, use some for a soft cover on my wood vise jaws and also to re-cover old wicker bar stools to use in the shop.
For the stool project, I have no idea what type of leather to use and how to stitch it onto the metal of the stools. I will have to spend some time in a Tandy Leather store and pick someone’s brain.
Timely blog to jump start my memory, thanks
