Thanks to all the kind welcomes, I feel obliged to introduce myself and try to explain why I am here on lumberjocks. My name is Fritz, I’m 30 have a wonderful wife, A wonderful amost-2-year-old and another on it’s way. I come from a long line of DIY’ers although they would consider themselves “handy”. And I’ve tried to do them proud.
We recently moved into a house to a two car garage, which even sharing with my wfie’s mini van, has given me to room to set up shop. And its coming together nicely, mostly OWWM’s. I’m itching to make some actual thought out pieces.
This is not to say I’m new to wood working… At our previous house, I built a window seat and valance to match the preexisting fire place mantel, I finished our basement and built our deck… But now I want to get into making “finer” items, where wood type and wood grain matters.
I was introduced to lumberjocks via Matt and Mark on woodtalk online. Through them and other podcasts I’ve gained a great deal of “book smarts” and I’m eager to get out there and learn and experience “hands – on” because knowing is half the battle (go G.I. Joe).
Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up with my postings and share with you all my progress.
Thanks again for warm welcomes.

love the GI Joe reference. it was a pivotal cartoon in my youth [we’re about the same age]. again, welcome to LJ’s, i know you’ll enjoy it here, it’s like one big [mostly] happy family of wood maniacs.
