« Part 1: Day One Part 2 of Segmented Stave Bowl series Part 3: Day Three - Finally Turning »

With the glue dry on the two halves of the bowl, I needed to make sure they would mate up properly when glued together.

I use a piece of melamine shelf board with a strip of 80-grit paper glued to it to true the two halves. I shade both ends of the half bowl with a lead pencil and sand until the marks are gone. They actually weren’t very far off, but why take the chance?

I then glued the vertical spacers to the two halves, and glued the halves together. I taped the joints, then used the vise on my bench to clamp the two halves together.

Again, I used plenty of glue and the glue needs to be good and dry before the next step.

You’re getting there….

... it’s nice to see the steps & hicups, if any, along the way…

Again, I await for the next Day…

Thank you.

I know I’m late to the party, but I’m hugely enjoying this series!! Thanks for taking the time, and the great pictures!
