My workshop is a work in progress… and it will probably always be a work in progress :)

I started “woodworking” with a bare minimum of tools, loads of enthusiasm, and little knowledge. Over the last few months I’ve learned that I not only thoroughly enjoy woodworking and puttering around with various upcycle, crafting, and DIY projects but that I am also quite good at this! In addition to learning lots, I’ve acquired a decent set of tools and have put together a respectably equipped workshop which is now the envy of most of my friends ;)

While I haven’t quite reached the point of needing top-notch professional tools, I have purchased a table saw, router, a drill press, several drills, a couple of Dremels, and a more than a few hand tools. I’ve also crafted (with assistance and free plans from numerous websites) workbenches, saw tables, jigs, and storage. Seems there’s always something better suited just waiting to be built!

I’m a tinkerer and a natural born scavenger. I firmly believe, “why buy it if I can build it”? Living on a fixed income and still raising the two youngest of my four children, I try not to spend a great deal on my hobby. Many of the materials I use are scavenged, traded for, or purchased very cheaply.

Thank you for the welcome, pottz & GR8HUNTER… I certainly appreciate it!

I agree that passion is far more important than skill or talent, thank goodness for that! ;)

I’d love to post pics of my projects, but am currently unable to until my first post is reviewed and approved. I promise that I will post project photos as soon as I am able to do so….

Thanks again!

LOL… I never knew how much I’d enjoy it… now, if a day goes by that I’m unable to get out to my shop I feel unfulfilled…. Thanks again!
