LEARNINGSo, I’ve built a few benches, a porch glider-swing (with cooler!), upcycled some cieling fan blades into a table, and then I decided that I would build a loft bed for my 15 yo daughter. I would build it with some lumber and a couple of dressers & nightstands that I have on hand. I researched it, looked at numerous plans & videos online, and thought, “That should be fairly straightforward & simple. I should be able to accomplish that in a couple of days.” ...

Part 2: Storage Challenges

I’m the type of person who has to be able to SEE all of my tools…. because basically, if I can’t see it, then it doesn’t exist and does me no good. After much research, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to develop a tool storage system that allows me to both store my tools and work efficiently, comfortably, and safely. What I’ve got now is a big, hairy mess… Tools everywhere, cabinets with drawers just taking up space, and massive frustration...

Part 3: Still organizing

So, in between running kids (or are they running me?), totaling 2 vehicles and subsequently doing the mad dash to replace each in turn, I’ve managed to somehow acquire a plethora of reclaimed wood in various states / condition. I also decided somewhere along the way that I desperately want to rearrange the entire workshoo.
