We have been asked to build a table top using all solid woods. It will be banded on all 4 sides with an 8’’ board. the table is 12’ long by 66’’ wide. Whats the best way to make sure the wood does not expand and break the joints at the banding. We typically use plywood veneers for the center section. Any thoughts?

Tony, would your client consider bread board ends? I think the movement on a table that wide would be problematic otherwise. Good luck and let us know the solution.
