I caught the bug for woodworking in jr high school, that should date me since there are no more jr high schools. I'm 52 and have breathing sawdust since 7th grade. I got more active by buying houses and living in them while remodeled them to sell. Along the way I slowly collected more and more tools and had to bigger houses to hold them all. I started making my own furniture because I either couldn't find what I wanted or couldn't afford the things that I found I liked. After that I just started building my own things because I could and I got so much enjoyment out of it. I'm probably your average woodworker. I have a decent ability to build about whatever I can see a picture of or draw a picture of. Sometimes it might take twice as long to build something because of not a shotrcut or two, but I learn from other buddies and mistakes, mostly mistakes. Little by little I have built a few pieces of furniture that I have been lucky enough to sell. I think that's where I want to direct more of my attention. My wife won't allow much more furniture in our home so I'll have to do something with all this stuff.In the meantime I'll just keep honing the craft. This could take some time.
