As a teenager my Grandfather Harry Pratt got me hooked on woodworking and my High School instructor Ted Zuzzio got me addicted. From then on I wanted to learn more about fine woodworking. This led me to the Wood Technology Program at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg Kansas. My former professor and friend Bruce Jackson AKA Wuddoc took me under his wing and taught me to slow down and do it right. He always says: "If you want a fine finish you can not sand too much" He will go on and say: " I have seen many projects with great potential become basic firewood because time was not taken to prepare the wood properly before applying the final coats of finish". For many years I have work for several big name wood operations; primarily as an engineer. I have worked with the largest woodworking machinery manufactures in the world and as a result have traveled all over Europe. But, I get more satisfaction in doing my own thing in my home shop. Today I make wooden cookie molds and stamp that are similar to the molds that were hand carved by the local wood craftsmen of old Europe. Wooden cookiemolds have been a part of Chinese culture for at least 1,000 years but really boomed 400 years ago all across Europe. You can still find these old artifacts on Ebay, but if you want new ones come and see what I have at www.cherrycookiemolds.com

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself almost a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
