Location: Near Nashville, TN
Website:
Now retired, I most recently worked some as a sub-contractor with a small company that builds out the interior of the big tour buses used by various entertainers.
I retired from Motorola after 24+ years. Positions with them ranged from field technician to division management. After retiring I soon started my own handyman/remodeling business. After about 3 years of this, I felt the need to slow down a bit and began subcontracting periodically as time and energy permited.
My shop is a stand-alone 36x24 insulated metal building.
I enjoy just puttering building jigs, tuning up shop equipment, supervising my 5 grandchildren's efforts in the shop (We made them their own bench), as well as actually building useful or entertaining items from time to time. Again, I'll try to eventually upload some pix of what I have done so far.

Welcome to LJs. I am sure that having to watch 5 grandchildren in the shop leaves you very little time to “play” on your own. But they are worth it and you are introducing them to a hobby in which hopefully they will learn and grow.
