Time to put on the finishing touches. Tommy goes to work on the finish with a heat gun. After that’s done, he takes the completed chest down to Downes & Reader Hardwood Co. for a critique.

Tommy, this has been a wonderful experience. Thanks for taking us along on this ride.
To tell the truth, if I had seen just the finished piece, I would have thought that there was no way I could do one of these. But by breaking it down in steps, as you have done with this series, I see that it is possible to do something like this. This certainly has been both inspirational and fun.
Although, after 6 of these, I am sure that the “fun” of the construction has worn off for you, I really appreciate the effort and time you put into this series.
