I just moved into my new home and I’m in the process of setting up my shop in the garage. I am fortunate enough to have a 2+ car garage that I can set up my tools. I made sure that I have plenty of lighting so I replaced the 1 incandesent bulb with 8 florescent fixtures. I also installed an electric heater as well as insulated the 12’ ceiling. As you can see in the photos I have built plenty of storage for other items. I also used heavy duty shelving brackets for storage of wood. I am still in the process of building an outfeed table for the table saw and just need to complete the drawers.

I will add or replace the photos once I have completed setting everything up.

Nice shop. Very organized even though you aren’t done yet. Is that a second bandsaw you are using as a clamp rack?

I’m jealous.

Last year I bought a new Laguna 16” 3000 series bandsaw. The other is my first bandsaw that I am giving to a friend and yes it is a clamp rack until he picks it up. Thanks for the comment.

Looking good. My only advice is paint the walls/ceiling now. You’ll thank yourself later.

The guy that I am giving the bandsaw to is a painter. Sounds like I will make him an offer. Thanks for the advise.

Nice shop … looks like you have plenty of space. I’d like to have high ceilings like yours!

Nice shop, I will echo Joe on the paint comment, I was planning on drywalling and painting the rest of my shop when I got the money but there little to no hope of that hapening now, there is duct all over everything, and thts with a dust collector and air cleaner haha. Thanks for posting.

Steve, this is a really nice shop that you have to work in. I would love to have the ceiling height that you do in there. I have just under 8’ to the bottom of the floor joists in my shop and handling sheet goods and long boards means dodging around light fixtures. This height also lets you store your lumber and sheet goods on end. Horizontal storage is fine but it makes getting to a board at the bottom, or in the back, of a stack a challenge.

You have also added some nice cabinetry to your shop and the table saw upgrade will be intersting to see once you get it finished. It looks like you will add some needed storage to your saw and improve its functionality. Bummer about the “non-essentials” being stored in your shop but it looks like you have plenty of room in there to accomodate them.

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed touring your shop.
