Thank you for the warm welcome…..

I am very new to woodworking, needed something to get me away from my tech career. What drew me in initially was building speakers, but as I continue learning, it is devouring me (in a good way).

I have been lurking here for a bit now, and like community that has developed. Maybe I will be able to contribute at some point.

I am still putting together the beginnings of a shop, but work is sadly keeping me from doing anything right now. We just remodeled so most of the things I am doing are baseboards, shelves, etc…

All of my tools are very new outside of the cordless drill, jigsaw, and circ. saw. I am still setting things up and squaring it all when I have time.

As soon as I build something I will be glad to post it. The first items will most likely be shop storage and organization stuff, an outfeed table, and maybe some quality single driver speakers.

edit: What I am looking forward to most is becoming skilled at and producing high quality joinery.

I understand the work thing. Hopefully things will calm down some and you can get to your projects.

Hopefully you’ll get through that, and while you’re at it save some room for yourself and an some air ductwork for a air purifier system. LOL. jockmike Welcome

Jockmike2 -

I hear you on the DC. I picked up a cyclone that is not installed yet, 7” main ducts and will have 4” feeding that from the machines. I will be putting together a downdraft table if I can find room, or kick my wife out of her parking spot.

Welcome SteveR.

Is that a picture of a slestack (Don’t know if I spelled it right) from land of the lost?

It indeed is a Sleestack. Although I am not a Land of the Lost follower (i did watch the series in my younger days), I just liked the pic for an avatar.

I get bored with avatars and tend to change them.

Have your say...
