Kevin Jones of Florida sent me this picture of 4 nested bowls he made from one blank with my BowlSaw. He made them from Osage Orange. I’ve never been able to get more than 3 bowls from an 8” bowl blank—so I have to salute him. I challenge any of you out there to equal Kevin’s record. I’ll send you a BowlSaw free of charge if you will evaluate it for me and tell your woodturning friends.

Dick,
I hope you sell a million of these. Great idea, well executed, and people seem to really like them. You may have the most successful busines of 2009!

Dick this looks like a great idea. I am kind of new to wood turning (got my lathe 6 months ago) and have been looking at a lot of different tools for turning bowls. It is nice to see a bowl cutter at a reasonable price. Between the price of wood and the price of accessories, it has become an expensive learning curve. If you are serious about letting me try one out, I would be happy to evaluate it and post my thoughts and pics of the results.

Hi Steuss. Great invention. I would be happy to evaluate your bowl saver in Australia, there would be one hell of a market out here and we have a great variety of woods. Is it workable on hard woods i.e. Australian Red Gum. Prices of a conventional bowl savers in Aus. are to expensive for the hobbist and this looks the goods, ones on my want list.

With all the turners on here, I have a hunch you’ll get plenty of offers to try out (and blog about) your bowl saw. Me too, me too!
