Hi everyone, I just joined the forum today interested in finding help or any tips anyone may have for making cutting boards. Ive made 2 so far and found out one cant even be used cause I used cedar. The second one I made is made with Hard Maple, Padauk, and Purpleheart.I made it into 2 boards one for regular use and the other for cocktail or cheese cutting. I read some exotic woods can be harmful so I wanted to know if any of the woods I used are harmful. Ill attach a pic if can figure out how of the one made with those woods. Im up for any advice or tips you guys have for making cutting boards. I basically just cut what I thought looked cool and glued it together then sanded it for about 2 hours and put salad bowl finish on it(which is still wet in the pic). I was also wondering if there are any ways to fill in gaps if the wood didnt fit flush. Hopefully the pic comes out. Thanks so much for looking and any advice you may have!Photobucket
