« Part 1: The start to my Bean Bag Boards Part 2 of Bean Bag Boards series Part 3: Finished!!!! »

Ok so its day 2 of the boards. It started out as a big pain in the butt today searching for bags and decals. All my local sports stores don’t carry anything big enough as far as decals and the bags they had were so cheaply made it was a joke. So after driving around for like 2 hours I went on Craigslist and called a guy that makes them himself. Something I should have just done in the first place but I always seem to learn lessons the hard way! LOL ! So I met up with him and he had some really nice stuff! He had just about any color you could think of and some amazing decals that were the perfect size. Come to find out this is like what he does. Hes part of the Nation Corn Hole Association and has his own business making pretty much everything you need for these things! So for anyone reading this that lives in the Phoenix area and wants to call him just let me know and Ill get you his info. I promise you wont be let down by the quality of his work. Hes a really helpful guy too and is willing to answer any questions and help you out. So enough about him (can you tell I was happy to find him? LOL!) back to the progress. I picked up a few more things on the way home and remembered to get the hole saw this time. I had no idea how expensive those things were! For the 6in hole saw and arbor it was like 60$! For that price I need to make some more of these things to get all the use I can out of it and sell them to pay for that thing! Haha! I had never used one of these before so me being the genius that i am I started using it will flip flops on. I know I shouldn’t be wearing those period when I’m working on stuff but I did anyway. Well it caught right away and went nuts and just about got the top of my bare foot! So at that time I went and put my work boots on and proceeded cutting.I kept my shorts on too cause it was really hot so i looked pretty cool! Well it was a good thing I did that cause that thing bounced right out of the hole and on top of my foot. So that’s why there is a pic of a boot with teeth marks in it. So all the cutting, assembling and sanding is done! Yeay! Now to the painting. I decided paint a perimeter around them to hide the screws and to add a little color to the actual board tops. I painted the sides of the frames too and thinking about painting the whole inside just cause I tend to go nuts every time I spray paint! Maybe I get high or something and just start getting out of control! who knows. LOL! Well I don’t think the painting of the perimeter was a good idea. Now it just looks like the boards are that size in the dark. Maybe it will make our game better cause we are aiming for a smaller target. Hahaha! I was thinking about putting a then white line around the edge and inner perimeter to give it a cleaner look and establish where the edge of the board is. I might just go to Auto Zone and get some white pen striping. That would probably be the easiest way instead of taping everything up again. We shall see. I have 1 day before I go back to work so pen stripping is sounding better and better by the minute. All I have left to do now is put the decals on (I’m nervous about that) and spray on the polyurethane. Oh and as far as the storage compartment, that’s a no go! The way I wanted to do it didn’t allow the legs to close flush so I said to heck with it and just left the outer board on the legs to act as a cross beam/ handle for the legs. Plus my moms boards have that storage area and it never gets used cause your always gonna take your bags in so they don’t get wet or eaten by your dog! That of course depends on your level of intoxication too! LOL ! Ok off to improperly downloading pics! Hopefully I didn’t forget anything. Sorry for the horrible grammar. I’m a mechanic/woodworker(gave myself the second title not sure if I’m qualified to call myself that yet) not and English professor. So thanks for your patience on my lack of intelligence LOL! Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking! One more funny thing befor I go. I used this cheap 14$ drill I bought from Harbor Frieght to cut the holes and I burned the motor up! Couldnt quite handle the load! Smoke was just pouring out of the vents it smelt something fierce too! Thats what I get for buying cheap stuff. Ok till next time! Everyone have a great weekend and thanks for looking!PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
