custom full-extension slides with wood stops - 4 replies

I saw a picture of a jewelry cabinet and the gentleman said he made the full extension slides out of wood. i have searched but to no avail. They seem to use less space and look and function great.Thank you for any advice.

watco oil - 13 replies

I like using Watco oil on some of my projects. I then put a coat of Johnsons paste wax as a final coat. I’m not really happy with it. Can I lay a coat of poly over the oil ? or should I use a different wax ?

final coat over varnish - 7 replies

I put 2 semi-gloss coats of Spar Varnish with a brush on walnut.I had little dibs on the finish so I rubbed with 0000 steel wool. It dulled the finish. Any suggestions on what I should of used to keep the shine. Thank You

I put Old Masters Tung oil on a stripped mahogany dresser. It called for two coats but it seems to be still too dry. The directions said not to use more than two coats. I used steel wool on it between coats. Is there a final finish or do I just use 0000 steel wool and leave it alone

I know that alternating wood grain when gluing up solid wood to make a tabletop is woodworking lore, but if i fasten the boards together with pocket-hole screws and then attached the top with figure 8 fasteners do you saw-dusts fiends think it will still cup?
