Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

    God Bless

Chad, I too was in the army. I somehow always managed to apply my woodworking skills while in the army. I was an 18-E on an SF Team. Sometimes when I went overseas I was the go to guy when it came time to set up HQ, either at team level or Battalion. Most of the time I used what tools we could acquire at the local level. Usually no power tools, mostly hand tools. You will find many contractors here, either they currently do framing and finish work and/or transitioned to cabinet work, millwork, or furniture. The knowledge here is unbelieveable. Feel free to ask these guys and gals any questions. The group is very friendly and loves to talk wood. A big welcome to you.

I don't usually beat GaryK to a new guy's profile, but don't worry - he'll probably show up soon. Welcome!

Just found this site and from what I've seen, I have no business being here! I grew up in construction and finish carpentry and although I'm in the Army, I still love to build in my spare time. I spend far too much money on buying new tools, but eventually I will put them all to good use!!!! I really look forward to learning more about my obsession with building, and getting feedback from fellow "addicts"!!!
