Need Locust Wood?
OK, here’s the deal. A friend of ours had a Locust Wood tree (not sure if it’s black or honey) cut down recently. I don’t want the wood to go to waste, so I’m trying to get it milled into logs. Real saw mills won’t talk to me since the logs are all 2 feet in diameter x 2 feet long. Logs that short are unstable and dangerous. I found a guy in my area who will do it, but there are several variables that might not make this a reality. 1) I have not been there and seen the logs yet. I’m going this weekend. They may be trash, there may only be a few logs, or only worth it as firewood.2) I may not be able to transport the logs. With a bad back ...
