Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I spent many years in the mainland, going from Texas to Kansas to Florida to Alabama and back to Florida. In 2003 I got my dream to go back home to the Island, but it was not to be. Things did not work out and I am back in Florida, working in an environmental lab, which has been my life's work.
I picked up woodworking many years ago while I was in school at Texas A&M, built several pieces, but when I moved on, I did not have the funds to build my own workshop. So, for many years, I did what I could with a circular saw and other tools, until my return to Florida. I have been accumulating tools and can say I have a functional though disorganized shop.
Perhaps, in a couple of years, I can leave my environmental chemist career behind me, move back home, and set up shop there. That is my goal.
I am a surfer, and being a surfer is like being in the Mafia... you can never leave it. I am also a guitar player, but I have not partaken for a few months due to the onset of trigger finger. Hoping my orthopedist can help me with that.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

Hey Slacker,
Thanks for the compliment…If your interested, I’m sure you could get carving some cool stuff. I’ve only been in it for 4 years, and I had never picked up a chainsaw before I started carving…add me as a buddy, I’ll keep you posted when my how to carve site launches…
