So there is an article on Make about National Plywood Month (or more correctly, Manufactured Wood Panel Month). There does not seem to be information about it anywhere else though.

Anyone else hear about this?

It’s just something they’re doing, not a nationwide thing. Every month they are focusing on a different manufacturing material, and the projects that can be done with it. I expect to see a lot of CNC/Lasercut furniture.

I see that this is related to the Maker Faire.

If you haven’t not been to one of these you are really missing something. My son and I went to one in May and we were overwhelmed by the number of people (guesstimate 50,000+), the variety of items from CNC (that is what we went to see), to model battleship battles, 3D printers of many varieties, a 30’ x 30’ Lego village with operating trains, robots big and small, vehicles of all types ….. and much much more! You would need 2 days + to see everything!
