Ryobi AP-12 #2: The blades perform well...

As I indicated in the previous blog, I wanted to save a few bucks and took my “disposable” Ryobi knives to work and asked the tool room manager to try sharpening them. Instead of trying to match the angle of the knife, he just removed .010” off the back. And the results are impressive. They went from completely dull to razor sharp:

Those are some pine shaving left over from surfacing some panels. I’m not sure how many more times they can be sharpened, but for now this is a working solution.

If it works and does not create a hazard, it is a good solution.
