Although I depend on an office job to put a roof over our heads, I love to create. In my younger years (I'm currently 29) I got involved with my dad in renovating an old victorian house which was my intro to rough carpentry. Through this, I gained an interest in finish carpentry and now wish that I still had access to the shop at the high school that I went to.

My wife and I bought a completely outdated cape cod a little over two years ago, and have been steadily renovating it ever since (although you wouldn't be able to really tell by looking at the blog that I started a while back). I am actually in the process of getting to a point where I really DO need that table saw in order to build things like custom corner vanities instead of running up to my parents house over an hour away...maybe some of you can toss me some comments as support to get the wife's approval on such purchases ;-) Luckily, our home has a full basement, with an unfinished room that should be decent enough for a small shop, as long as I plan out the shop furniture appropriately. I think my first project when I do get a table saw is going to be a table saw workstation on wheels...can't wait!

My dream is actually to figure out a way to get all of our debts paid off (house) at an early age to allow me to retire to a life of habitat for humanity volunteer work and a custom furniture business. Suggestions welcome!
