Tired from a hard day at the gym, strumming my guitar getting ready for Sunday Morning at church, pondering the sunshine sparkiling off the snow, I wonder, WHY IS IT SNOWY AND COLD IN ABBOTSFORD!!! As Don can attest to, the lowermain land is a 98% snow free zone, but this year we’ve had two large dumps. Now I grew up in the North and Love snow, but the thought of going out to my frozen shop to finally finish that Media center I’ve been at for over a year I wimp out…too cold, well reading about you guys going so hard has inspired me, tommorow, my Saturday off, I’m going into my shop and working hard on my project…I may have to do my glue ups in the house, but I will get my project almost to the finishing stage by tommorow evening.

There are some things that just need an excuse. When i was siding with a friend, we would use any excuse for a bible study. My bags are out of nails and I can just as easily take off my bags as fill the pockets, so lets go Bible Study. or… I felt a couple of rain drops hit my head… or it’s Tuesday. Take the day off, play your guitar and listen to that wee small voice

Shawn, are you involved in leading worship at your church?

Nice Obi, very nice. Yes Don, I am involved in leading worship at my church, I also am head of the youth ministry department…not to be confused with youth pastor…I’ve been down that road, didn’t like it, now as a lay leader, I have peace.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately, some churches have a way of eating their youth pastors.

LOL, ya you could say that…though the church did go through some stuff, and I hope it has come out of it well. I wasn’t the last youth pastor that Sr. pastor went thorugh…though for some reason he didn’t last long at the church. I’m very happy now, it was a good growing experience for me and helped me find where God wants me to be, so really, I cant be anything but blessed by the experience looking back on it, It’s almost 1 am, I should sleep nice cold day in the shop tommorow

I’m siding with Obi – listen to the little voice telling you what your body/spirit needs.
As for the snow, I’m in the beautiful winterland of Ontario Canada and my son moved out to sunny British Columbia this year and was taunting me with the different weather conditions that the two provinces have.
Well, so far, we have had 2 months of beautiful “springlike” weather and he has been bombarded with blizzards, hurricane-like winds, and torrents of rain that has made its way into his home. Who’s laughing now, son?? !!! :) MWHaaaa aaa

Quote Shawn: ”...so really, I cant be anything but blessed by the experience looking back on it…”
Shawn, this is the response God expects of us. I firmly believe that the important thing is not so much what happens to us, but how we react to what happens. It seems to me that your ‘youth pastor’ experience, regardless of how you felt at the time, has made you a better person.
